A Busy Year at Esther's House!

Posted 08/11/2011

It's been a busy year for Esther's House Ministries!

All of our missionaries---team, short- and long-term---play a major role in the development of this ministry. We are so thankful to have had four different groups serve in Malawi this yearon team trips, two summer interns Matt and Ashley who served for 6 weeks, missionary John Gardner and his daughter Maggie who served for 8 weeks, and of course our resident long-termmissionary Cindy House who has just begun her second year serving at Esther's House. Every group has had different goals, but all of the goals that have been accomplished have been vital to Esther's House and have been an incredible blessing.

One of the bigger projects that our teams in March and June have been working on is completing the administrator's house on the Esther's House campus.

The Hart family will soon be moving to Malawi to serve at Esther's House for a two-year period, and they will be calling the administrator's house their home. Additions such as ceilings, new window frames, shelves and cabinets, and wardrobes in the bedrooms have been made to make their transition to life in Malawi as smooth as possible. John and Maggie Gardner joined the June team to assist with this project, and remained behind to put the finishing touches on the house.

From late May to early July, Ashley LeFevre and Matt Deel served as interns at Esther's House. Matt and Ashley lived on campus and were able to help the house parents in caring for the residential children during their stay. During that time, Matt was also able to make 15 tables and 30 benches for the dining hall at Esther's House while Ashley worked with the younger residential children to create a preschool learning curriculum for the house parents to use with them on an ongoing basis.

Cindy House, Director of Operations for Esther's House

Cindy House, who is currently serving as Director of Operations for Esther's House, has made a 2-year commitment to the ministry in Malawi. Cindy was able to make a trip home in April for a month of rest, visiting with family and friends, and additional training. Cindy has been such anintegral part of Esther's House ministry, and we are excited to see all that God will accomplish through her and the staff of Esther's House in the upcoming year! We ask that you keep Cindy and all of our missionaries in your prayers as they work to further His kingdom.
